1. The brain creates neurotransmitters

When we exercise, our brain produces neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, serotonin, and GABA. This is one of the reasons why our brain consumes more energy when we are exercising. 

2. Your body’s temperature rises

Your temperature increases when you are moving. Our muscles require energy for you to be able to work out, this is why your body burns calories from the fats and carbohydrates that you take in a sequence of chemical reactions that produce heat. 

3. The heart beats faster

Are you always curious why your heart beats faster when you are working out? This is because your adrenaline levels rise. The muscles’ capillaries open spaciously, increasing the flow of blood thereby up to 20 times. 

Aside from that, when your heart rate goes up and it pumps more blood through your system, the heart gets stronger. Daily exercise can make your heart powerful and more systematic. In the long run, this can reduce your heart rate by 5-25 beats per minute. 

4. The body releases chemicals called Endorphins

Our bodies release happy hormones when we exercise which is called Endorphins. These chemicals interact with the receptors in your brain to lessen your perception of pain. Endorphins also bring a happy feeling within your body that usually comes with a more positive outlook on life. 

5. The ribcage supports the diaphragm

Your ribcage has muscles that assist the diaphragm to draw in up to 15 times more oxygen than at rest. The way you breathe gets faster and deeper too.

The first workout. When you’re performing exercises for the first time, you will definitely feel alert and energized. You will feel endorphins flowing in your body and feel great too! But most likely you’ll experience getting delayed onset muscle soreness for 3 days. However, you don’t need to stop your exercise routine. As you try to do it regularly, the soreness will pass, and eventually, you will rarely experience it again. 

The 6-8 weeks. Within these weeks, your body will normally produce more mitochondria. If you don’t know what mitochondria are, these are parts of your cells that burn fat, carbs, and protein into the energy that your muscles need. Normally, throughout these weeks you can boost your mitochondria by up to 50%. This will help you feel stronger and get fitter, making exercises more effortless. Just make sure that you are motivating yourself! If you think that it’s too easy, you can always increase the intensity of your workouts. 

The 6-9 months. During these months, you can already witness the results of regular exercise. Muscles will be more robust and your body gets more toned. Notice how your workout will be harder and you’ll be running farther than at the start. Why does this happen? Your body will transport oxygen to your muscles more effectively. 

One year. The hard work of your exercise will be more noticeable. Your whole body will be leaner and fitter. Your bones are becoming denser which is great to avoid osteoporosis. So, get your exercise equipment and start making a long-term commitment when it comes to performing daily exercises. This will not only reduce your healthcare costs and lessen the risk of developing arthritis, dementia, and type 2 diabetes.
