Like most industries, the IT industry divides salaries based on location, skills, and output per hour too. These salaries used to be high. Now it is sad how the IT industry has minimalized the pay for each worker. Companies usually find low-salary remote employees. But the IT profession is still the highest paying profession.

I will not indulge you in the facts and figures here. You can search for it. But to conclude in plain language, IT salaries have changed over time drastically. At the beginning of the computer era, the wages of computer experts were not much appreciated.

Later on, in the 2000s, with the boost of the internet, different professions emerged with high wages. People started taking an interest in programming and computer skills. Companies offered high wages. As time passes, IT job wages are declining in particular skill-specific IT jobs.

Comparison of IT and Other Job Wages

We can see a significant difference if we compare IT job wages and other jobs. According to “Glassdoor” salaries submitted by IT, job holders range from 67,000$-121,500$ per year. If we compare this salary with that of a chef, It goes from 50,000$-60,000$. 60,000$ represents a head chef. These comparisons are from the US only.
